Small Engine Repair Program – From Backyard Tools to Powersports Machines
Engines aren’t just under the hood of cars—they power the everyday machines we depend on. In the Small Engine Repair Program, students learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of small engine equipmentincluding snowmobiles, four-wheelers, outboard motors, lawn tractors, and chainsaws.
This program goes beyond engines, covering supporting systems like transmissions, gears, hydraulics, electrical systems, electronics, and drive-train components. Students gain hands-on experience with tools and diagnostic equipment while developing real-world problem-solving skills. And yes—students are encouraged to bring in and repair their own machines as part of the curriculum, matching classroom learning with practical projects.
Safety is central to every repair, and students have the opportunity to earn the 10-hour OSHA General Industry Safety Certification, along with other workplace safety credentials that employers value.
