Why It Matters❤️
Extended Learning Opportunities help students
In 2022, Waldo County Technical Center became the first CTE school in Maine to receive a Department of Education Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) Grant. Today, this innovative program connects students directly with the community, giving them real-world experiences that expand career exploration and prepare them for meaningful futures.
Through ELO, students move beyond textbooks and classrooms into hands-on opportunities that help them discover passions, build professional skills, and make valuable industry connections. These experiences not only strengthen career readiness but also help provide Midcoast Maine with educated, skilled, and experienced workers.
