Employability Skills Program (ESP)

Pre-Tech for 9th graders

Employability Skills Preparation (ESP) is a pre-technical program designed for 9th graders. Students learn the necessary skills for communicating and maintaining employment in the workforce. This course addresses a variety of skills including: teamwork, organization, work ethic, personal appearance, maintaining a positive attitude and dependability


COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE INTRODUCTIONS TO: 

  • Hydroponics

  • Woodworking

  • 3D Printing/CNC

  • Basic Drafting

  • Co2 Dragsters

REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS PROGRAM


  • Good attendance

  • Ability to follow directions

  • Attention to detail and fine motor skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently for a 2 hour block

  • Ability to work in a professional and supportive manner

  • Understand and adhere to standards of safety in the classroom, and shop

CERTIFCATIONS

  • OSHA - 10 hour General Industry

  • SP2 - Professional Skills

HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT OPTIONS FOR 9TH GRADERS

Maximum of 4 credits may be used:

  • 1 Math

  • 1 Fine Art

  • 1 English

  • .5 Science

  • 1 Life & Career Readiness
