Welding Technology
The welding technology program is a one or two year course of study that emphasizes
"hands-on" experience in arc welding.
|
The first half of the year concentrates on shop safety, weld joint design,
art welding , oxygen and acetylene welding and cutting, and the development
of the manual skills necessary to weld in all positions.
|
The second year is
available only to those who have met the prerequisites and will focus on
development of skills in Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) Gas Tungsten Arc
Welding (HELIARC), and special fabrication projects.

The WCTC welding program has an
articulation agreement with Eastern Maine Technical College. Students
will be given credit for WEL 131 SMAW Basic at EMTC. Students
also have the opportunity to obtain their American Welding Society
Certification (AWS).
