Networking Technology
The Networking Technology course is traditionally offered as the
follow up course
Although students are encouraged to complete the Computer Technology course
prior to taking the Networking Technology course, it is not required. Interested
students can take the course if they are able to demonstrate that they have
an adequate understanding of computer hardware & software concepts.

opportunity to learn about hardware and software technology through a combination
of hands-on networking projects and theory studies.
The course has a specific concentration in topics that correlate with the
CompTIA® Network+ exam objectives
CompTIA is an international
organization that maintains standards-based certifications for computer &

At the end of the course, students who are interested in achieving certification
will have the opportunity to take the exam. Students who meet
qualifications

scores on practice exams that significantly exceed the minimum required to pass
the real exams.

The Computer & Networking Technology program has an articulation agreement
with Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield. After completing the
program and achieving certification in the A+ and Network+ exams, students are
eligible to receive 7 credits in the Applied Electronics & Computer Technology
program. A dual enrollment agreement also provides an opportunity for
students to complete Computer Operating Systems (ETC-110) and receive 3 credits.
