Auto Collision Repair

ICAR LogoThe Automotive Collision program is a two-year program. The first year is devoted to the basics of auto body repair; second year students cover more advanced and specialized topics.

During the first few weeks of class, students will learn the basics of refinishing, such as masking and paint mixing. Then, they will apply this knowledge to making a custom license plate for themselves.

The rest of the first quarter is devoted to learning how to perform basic small dent repairs to vehicles brought in by the public or students themselves. This will continue on for the rest of the first year. All the while, students are learning the latest techniques in basecoat, clear coat, refinishing, MIG welding, and more extensive body repair.

The second year is offered for those who qualify to further their education in this field, with a potential for job placement upon successful completion of the program.
